"All life is suffering"

The cause of suffering is cravings and desires. Through non-atachment we learn that we can be happy.

The noble eightfold path

right view, right resolve, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfullness and right concentration.

Buddhism is usually divided into two catagories, "Mahayana" and "Hinayana" which are known as the greater and lesser paths respectively. There is also Vajrayana which is practiced mainly by Tibetan buddhist and would include "Tantra" which translates as "continueum".
